The phalanx was Greece's strategy. Greece army had long spears and oval shields. Greece is had some dumb Ideas. If shoot arrows you can kill them. If they use there shields to block your soldiers can kill them now. It was a smart idea for back then cause, no one defeat it. If Sparta and Athens had stop fighting each other they would haven't lose to Rome. The phalanx was breakable. Roman use the phalanx better than Greece. I think the phalanx was ahead of its time. How they use teamwork and shields and spears all at the sometime both Roman and Greece use them very well.
The phalanx is like shark teeth some break other take it's place.
Greece's most popular sport was Chariot races. Chariot racing often was dangerous to both driver and horse as they frequently suffered serious injury and even death, but generated strong spectator enthusiasm. In the anicent Olympic games, as well as the other PanHellenic Games the sport was one of the most important equestrian events. Each chariot was pulled by four horses. It was very violent.
